Growing up in Baltimore, MD, I performed in multiple community theatre productions as a teenager. When I joined the Marine Corps, my theatre experience was limited to attending an occasional production, until we moved to Valley Park in 2015. My son attended Valley Park School District, where he performed in the school musicals during his middle and high school years. My wife and I got involved with the productions as volunteers where I focused on reaching the technical crew basic construction skills for set building. We designed and built large-scale props for several shows and were able to continue volunteering even after our son graduated. As I got to know the students, I heard over and over how much they all were going to miss being involved in the theatre once they graduated. Their fear was that, unless they attended a college with a theatre program, any acting opportunities were going to be too far from home for them to participate. So, when I heard that there was interest in starting a Valley Park Community Theatre, not only did my inner theatre kid heart leap, but I knew it could be the opportunity to help those theatre-loving graduates to continue to follow their dreams. Not only do I come equipped with a love for the theatre, I also have 20 years’ experience as a United States Marine that honed valuable leadership and management skills. Since retiring in 2015, I have lived in Valley Park and worked as the Vice President of Operations for a safety consulting firm in Chesterfield which has afforded me the opportunity to learn so much about this beautiful city and county area, meet a wide variety of people, and put my networking skills front and center. I am looking forward to putting all of those skills together to give the gift of the Valley Park Community Theatre to this community that has embraced my family.

My family and I first moved to Valley Park in 2008 and lived here for nearly three years before the Marine Corps moved us out of Missouri. When my husband retired from the Marine Corps, we moved back to Valley Park in the summer of 2015, where our son participated in the Valley Park School District choir and theatre programs while in middle and high school. My husband and I both volunteered with the Valley Park Theater Department, helping to build sets, design/modify costumes, and providing general support to the cast, crew, and directors even in the years just after our son graduated.

While my theatre experience is limited to those years volunteering at VP School District, I do have decades of experience in providing support to a wide variety of businesses, organizations, and teams. I was also a member of the school district’s Facilities Planning Committee helping to guide the future plans for the campus. Speaking to the students who were so desperately missing the theatre after graduating and participating in the facilities committee really had me wishing we could bring a piece of the vibrant St. Louis Arts culture to our own backyard. So, when I was approached about helping to launch a Community Theatre in Valley Park, I didn’t hesitate to get involved.

Join us in bringing a valuable asset to our city and helping the Valley Park Community Theatre to celebrate the Arts right here at home!

He then worked with Open House Theatre for 14 years. After Open House, he and his husband started St. Louis Limelight Magazine, which served the theatre community through free production advertising, reviews, and exclusive interviews. Before the pandemic, they launched Myriad Productions and staged a critically acclaimesd production of Heathers the Musical.

Richard lives in Valley Park with his partner of 13 years and their 16 year old son. While they are still new to the community, he is very excited to bring this company to the area for everyone.

    Board Member, Secretary

I am a proud mom of four and even prouder Me-Maw of two. I work at Siteman Cancer Center as a Laboratory Project Manager and live in the Bevo Mill Neighborhood with my husband Aaron and our beloved pack of three rescue dogs. I am a voracious reader and short story writer and dream of writing the next great novel or screenplay. I believe in the importance of building strong community ties and throughout my life have volunteered in a variety of capacities with non-profits focused on providing opportunities for people to engage and use their talents and ideas to contribute in positive ways to their communities. Growing up, I desperately wanted to be a “theatre kid” but did not have the opportunity. I was finally able to fulfill my dream two years ago and the thrill was even better than I had imagined. Everyone with a desire to participate in theatre, in any capacity, should have the opportunity to do so. The VPCT will enable people from all walks of life to come together, in a safe, supportive environment where differences are celebrated and creativity and artistic expression is encouraged. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to play a role in this endeavor that is going to entertain, and enrich the Valley Park Community.

Lola is the showgirl of the group. Her experience in theater and performing at Jefferson College is where she fell in love with live theater.

That passion, lead her to pursue a degree in musical theater at Columbia College Chicago. Just short of earning her degree, Lola fell into a beautiful career, teaching and managing a ballroom dance studio in downtown Chicago. 21 years later, Lola was grateful and luck enough to be teaching, traveling, and using her passion for dance and to inspire others.

Lola is also very passionate of all things mystical! When she’s not dancing frolicking in the woods, she is with her corgi, King Tut or talking to trees,  and reading tarot cards!
